# gonzXP agent documentation

gonzXP is Mike Gonzalez's interactive portfolio presented as a browser-based Windows XP and Windows 98 desktop.

## Audience

The experience is for people exploring Mike's product design and applied AI work, and for visitors interested in nostalgic interactive web interfaces.

## Shell model

The browser owns live desktop state. Human UI actions and embedded AIM actions use the same typed shell store and capability bridge. Agents should use the documented shell tools instead of automating DOM clicks.

The surface endpoint is the source of truth for the available capabilities: typed tools for windows (shell.get_surface, shell.get_context, windows.get_state, shell.open_window, shell.focus_window, shell.close_window), notes, Winamp, the Command Prompt, themes, AIM actions, and bounded screenshot-based interaction limited to the visible shell. It lists valid window identifiers, descriptions, parameters and each tool's status; planned tools are not executable.

## Embedded AIM agent

SmartestChild and the other AIM buddies run inside AOL Instant Messenger within the gonzXP shell. At turn time they can inspect the current shell snapshot and call allowlisted shell capabilities. They cannot execute arbitrary DOM code.
