# gonzXP > gonzXP is Mike Gonzalez's interactive product-design portfolio, presented as a browser-based Windows XP and Windows 98 desktop. The public experience lets visitors sign into a simulated desktop; open, focus, move, and close windows; explore portfolio content; change themes; use Notepad and Winamp; launch classic games; and chat through AOL Instant Messenger. AIM's SmartestChild (and the other AIM buddies) run inside the gonzXP host shell. They receive a fresh snapshot of allowlisted shell state at turn time and use typed capabilities to operate the desktop. The browser shell remains the source of truth. Neither the buddies nor outside agents need arbitrary DOM automation for supported actions. ## Agent resources - [Agent documentation](https://xp.gonz.co/docs): Product purpose, audience, shell model, and supported capabilities. - [Shell capability surface](https://xp.gonz.co/api/shell/surface): Structured JSON describing apps, tools, parameters, status, and coverage. - [Sitemap](https://xp.gonz.co/sitemap.xml): Public canonical resources. - [Homepage](https://xp.gonz.co/): The interactive gonzXP desktop. ## Shell tools The shell capability surface is the source of truth for what agents can do; read it rather than assuming. It currently describes typed tools for: - windows: `shell.get_surface`, `shell.get_context`, `windows.get_state`, `shell.open_window`, `shell.focus_window`, `shell.close_window` - notes in Notepad and the browser-local Desktop and My Documents (`notes.*`) - Winamp (`media.*`), the Command Prompt (`command.execute`), themes and AIM actions - bounded screenshot-based interaction (`computer.*`), limited to the visible shell Each tool lists its status and parameters. Unsupported actions return typed errors. Do not infer planned tools are executable. Visitor files and notes live in the visitor's browser only.
