gonzXP: Mike Gonzalez's interactive Windows XP portfolio

gonzXP is an interactive portfolio and browser-based desktop created by product designer Mike Gonzalez. It recreates the feel of Windows XP and Windows 98 while presenting Mike's work, interests, and experiments through familiar desktop applications. Visitors can sign into the simulated desktop, open and move windows, explore My Computer, change visual themes in Control Panel, write in Notepad, launch classic games, use Winamp, and chat through a detailed recreation of AOL Instant Messenger.

The experience is designed for people exploring Mike's product design and applied AI work, as well as anyone interested in nostalgic, highly interactive web interfaces. AIM's SmartestChild and its fellow buddies are embedded inside the desktop and can inspect the current gonzXP shell state and operate allowlisted shell capabilities such as opening and closing applications, writing notes and controlling Winamp. The browser desktop remains the source of truth, and these capabilities use typed application actions instead of fragile DOM automation.

Agents and developers can read the gonzXP agent documentation, discover concise guidance in llms.txt, or inspect the structured shell capability surface.
